Failed coatings with rust already established underneath, across cylinder tanks and a dust collector housing. We blasted back to bare steel — welds, seams and fixings included, because that's where corrosion starts — then rebuilt the barrier with a three-coat system for industrial exposure. We staged the work around their production, so the plant never stopped.

Do you contain the dust and debris?

Where the job needs it, we use enclosed vacuum blasting so spent media and dust are recovered at the nozzle. On the Goliath crane at Otara we worked thirteen metres up while the yard below kept operating.

How soon do you coat after blasting?

The coating sequence is planned around the selected system and site conditions. Preparation and protective coating are planned together, keeping the clean surface ready for the selected finish.

What surface profile will I be signing off?

On steel, Sa 2.5 or Sa 3 to AS 1627.4, depending on the coating system specified — in plain terms, clean bright steel with a fine roughness the coating can key into. On concrete, a roughened profile matched to the system going over it. We name the standard on the quote so you're accepting the work against a number rather than an opinion.

What determines the cost?

Surface area, substrate, what needs removing, access, containment and the site environment all matter. Send photos, location and access details and we will assess the job properly. There's no minimum job — we take one-off private work alongside the commercial contracts, so send it through either way.

What can you give us before we let you on site?

Our operators are Site Safe approved with current inductions, and we can send site documentation ahead of the job rather than sorting it at the gate. Tell us what your site or head contractor requires and we'll have it ready before we arrive.

Can you work around our production schedule?

Yes. At Godfrey Hirst in Wiri, we staged blasting and recoating around production so the plant could keep running. Tell us your operating window when you request a quote.

Can you do the blasting and the coating?

Yes. We provide blasting, remediation and protective coating services, so preparation and protection are handled together.

Do you work at height and on live sites?

Yes. The Goliath crane project at Otara involved elevated work from scissor lifts on an operating site, with enclosed vacuum blasting used to recover dust and spent media.
